Arachova's local products are worth knowing: the village produces a feta-style cheese (formaela Arachovas), a sweet red wine made from Mavrodaphne and Muscatel grapes, pasta (trahanas), and hand-woven carpets (flokata) that were the original reason the village was known beyond its immediate region. The covered arcades along the main street sell these products alongside ski gear and souvenir shops. Getting There and When to Visit

Drive from Athens via the E75/A1 motorway toward Lamia, then west via Livadeia — approximately 2.5 hours from Athens. The mountain road from Arachova to the Parnassos ski centre requires snow tyres or chains in heavy snow. KTEL buses serve Arachova from Athens's Liossion bus terminal. The ski season runs approximately December through March; Arachova in summer is significantly quieter but Delphi's season runs year-round. The combination of Delphi in the morning and an evening in Arachova's tavernas is one of the most satisfying day-trip structures available from Athens.

The village is also a destination in its own right in summer, when Athenians come for the fresh mountain air, the local products, and the proximity to Delphi. The early August feast of Saint George — patron saint of Arachova — involves three days of celebration including traditional dances, communal meals, and races for older men (the gerogeorgina) that are unique to the village and predate the skiing era entirely. This summer festival is one of the few genuinely local festivals still celebrated in its traditional form in accessible mainland Greece.
