Press & Media
Press information, brand assets, key statistics, and media contact for Teleporio™ — Greece's ferry intelligence and island travel planning platform.
About Teleporio™
Teleporio™ is Greece's ferry intelligence and island travel planning platform. It combines live Beaufort sea conditions from the Open-Meteo Marine API, real-time ferry disruption data from Ferryhopper, and in-depth island travel guides in a single platform designed for independent travellers planning Greek island journeys.
Teleporio publishes over 800 indexed pages covering 45+ Greek islands, 70+ ferry route guides, 528 month-by-month island travel pages, and 25 island comparison guides. Every route guide includes live Beaufort exposure ratings and ferry operator comparisons. The platform is the only consumer travel site that translates Beaufort wind scale data into plain-English travel advice for Aegean crossings.
What Makes Teleporio Different
Most Greek island travel resources tell you where to go. Teleporio tells you whether the sea will let you get there comfortably. Ferry crossings in the Aegean are heavily affected by the Meltemi wind system, which produces sustained Beaufort 5–7 conditions across the central Aegean during July and August. Teleporio surfaces this data at the route and island level so travellers can make informed decisions about timing, operators, and crossing durations before they book.
The platform also monitors live ferry disruptions from Ferryhopper — cancellations, vessel substitutions, and port closures — and publishes them in plain English on the Today in Greece page. This is updated in near real-time and is freely accessible without registration.
Platform Statistics
Teleporio currently covers 45 Greek islands with dedicated travel guides, 70 ferry routes with live Beaufort data and operator comparisons, and 528 island×month pages giving month-by-month travel intelligence for every major island. The platform also includes 25 head-to-head island comparison guides for the most searched island-choice queries, such as Santorini vs Mykonos and Paros vs Naxos.
Data Sources and Methodology
Wind and sea conditions are sourced from the Open-Meteo Marine API, updated hourly. Beaufort level is calculated from wind speed in metres per second using the standard international Beaufort scale. Ferry disruption data is sourced from Ferryhopper's live disruptions feed; only confirmed disruptions are published. Ferry schedule data is sourced from official Greek operator timetables and updated seasonally. Full methodology is available on the data sources page.
